  • A National level conference and symposia of the Society of Toxicologists of India (STOX, India) was organized by this department in 1987.
  • Dr D K Deka, Associate Professor was awarded a Traveling Research Fellowship by the Welcome Trust, London for undergoing Post Doctoral Research (2001-2003) from the University Department of Pharmacology, Oxford.
  • The Department has completed three-research projects-one funded by NATP, second one by DRDO and the third one was a network project on ethno veterinary medicine funded under AP Cess fund.
  • A national level seminar on Clinical Research was organized in 2007.
  • Formulated area specific mineral mixture AAUVETMIN which was commercialized by Director of Research (Vety) with SDB Agrochem, Guwahati-781026.
  • Seasonal mapping of environmental parameters Temperature Humidity Index (THI) documented.
  • Porcine GIT microbes as a good source of pro-biotic were identified.
  • Heat stress related protein expressions at different THI have been mapped.
  • Developed suitable ultra rapid freezing protocol using vitrification with open pulled straw technique on bovine oocyte resulted in vitro embryonic development. The polyadenylation pattern of PAPOLA, GJA1, and HSP70 gene can be used as a predictive tool for oocyte developmental competence in vitro.
  • Standardized Neutral Comet assay by Single Cell Gel Electrophoresis for sperm DNA integrity as important criteria for in vitro semen evaluation.
  • Standard protocol for mRNA extraction, LM-PAT and PCR amplification from vitrified oocytes have been achieved in the laboratory.
  • Expression of marker genes in cumulus cells and oocytes in relation to developmental and vitrification competence of bovine oocytes.
  • Successfully developed and standardized pig fibroblast cell culture and their cryopreservation.
  • Standardized the basic protocols of pig cloning with production of cloned embryos.
  • Artificial hatching of Pati ducks are standardized.
  • Aflatoxin challenged Pati ducks are raised in the ICAR-NASF project of the department.
